Hagen Sandoval

Executive Producer & Host

Hagen Sandoval is a 6th generation Nevadan with a passion for Reno history and the ties his family has to the area. Hagen's passion for storytelling came from his great grandparents. His Great Grandmother was the one of the twin daughters of Captain Daryl Read of the Reno Police Department and graduated from Reno High School in 1953. She was a socialite and eventually married her husband Captain Donald Moore of the Reno Fire Department. Growing up they would tell stories of Reno's heyday and inspired Hagen's passion to preserve Reno's past.

Hagen started his interest in video production and journalism in a high school Career and Technical Education course at Spanish Springs High School. As a student he had a passion for interviewing local community leaders and got to meet everyone from the Mayor of Reno and Sparks, Governor, Nevada Attorney General, and many more. Hagen has won many awards for his news stories in the local SkillsUSA Nevada Competitions, local film festivals, and even won an on-air internship as a student reporter for KRXI FOX 11. Hagen Sandoval is currently a Commissioner for the Human Rights Commission for the City of Reno.

Storytelling is his passion and he is excited to continue to contribute to the Reno community and promote local history for generations to come.
